About the event

In this 90 minute introductory class, which features an eclectic playlist of global music, you’ll learn the Dancing with Pain® method for reducing or eliminating pain through dance. You’ll start off by learning the many options for movement, in each area of your body, so that no matter where you feel pain or limited mobility, you can discover a pain-free way to move safely, easily, and joyfully.

You will then learn how to do the following:

- shift from the “I can’t” mindset to the “how can I?” mindset

- dance lying down, sitting in a chair, and standing up

- dance in your imagination

- flow with the changing rhythms and sensations of your body

- rewire your brain and nervous system to feel pleasure instead of pain

Find out more about the science behind the Dancing with Pain® method, and check out endorsements and testimonials!

About the Instructor Loolwa Khazzoom is the founder of the Dancing with Pain® method for healing chronic pain, which has been featured in The NY Times, ABC News, Fox News, and other top media outlets. After a decade of debilitating chronic pain - leaving Khazzoom alternately bedridden, housebound or wheelchair bound, Khazzoom discovered that by reconceptualizing dance, she could use it to heal herself. Ultimately, she was able to bike up to 30 miles at a shot, pain-free, and she now leads a predominantly pain-free life. She is passionate about teaching others how to heal themselves from chronic pain through dance, and how to optimize other areas of their inner and outer environments, to facilitate whole-Being wellness.
